Petrol station staff will complete a 70-mile trek between Aston and Skegness for charity, it has emerged.
Staff at the Somerfield petrol station in Worksop Road, Aston, will tackle the challenge on Saturday to raise money for people with Parkinson"s disease, reports the Dinnington and Maltby Guardian.
It comes after a member of their workforce was diagnosed with the disease four months ago.
Store manager John Marsh"s preparations for the event would be a match for many people"s efforts on the exercise bike, treadmill or X-trainer.
"I have been training doing a 20-mile walk a week and a 30-mile bike ride a week too. And I do four miles on the X-trainer every evening," he told the newspaper.
Staff at Aston Somerfield petrol station have also been raising money for the Macmillan cancer support charity this year, the article noted.
Earlier this week, staff and users of Salisburys Focal Point Day Resource Centre, which helps people with learning difficulties, raised £865 in one day by completing a distance equivalent to two marathons on the treadmill to raise money to pay for a new rowing machine at the centre, the Salisbury Journal reported.
