A new yoga DVD aims to challenge traditional stereotypes about the fitness practice by emphasising its health and wellness benefits, an instructor has claimed.
International yoga teacher Desiree Rumbaugh is set to release a new DVD to encourage people to use yoga as a way to combat injury and relieve pain, according to the Arizona Republic.
The DVD, entitled Yoga to the Rescue, Feel Good from Head To Toe, is designed with the casual fitness enthusiast in mind, Ms Rumbaugh said.
"I wanted yoga to have a very simple and easy approach for people to follow because I think the average person is not that flexible or in shape," she said, adding that the DVD is a product "anybody could use".
According to yogamatters.com, the 60-minute DVD is available in the UK at a recommended retail price of £14.99 and is specially designed for people who wish to develop flexibility and ease chronic pain.
