Suunto introduces first training watches for women
Heart Rate Monitors
01 May 2008

Performance monitoring equipment maker Suunto Training has launched a new range of heart monitors and training watches that includes its first items designed specifically for women.

The new range includes 11 models in total, four of which are aimed at the female exercise market.

The company says the heart monitors come in a range of colours, from "vibrant orange" to "chic black".

Models vary from the "introductory" T1 designed for day-to-day use to the more advanced T6, which can store and set a full training programme and provide an on-the-spot "complete workout analysis", Suunto added.

All four models record workout details and how performance can be improved. They also come with heart monitor belts that use heart rate to calculate the amount of calories burnt and help to show the benefits of exercise.

Suunto was founded in 1936 in Finland by Tuomas Vohlonen to manufacture compasses. Today, it makes and exports its range of sports-specific training watches to over 70 countries worldwide.
